My apartment was basic next to Costa Rica and Playas del Coco. Rooms with a large bathroom with shelving for your belongings.
Couldn't find water.

The rooms were clean and fresh, and the host was very friendly and helpful. The best aspect of the hotel was the gated courtyard with trees to park your car under. It felt safe and secure. Another positive aspect was the use of a kitchen, which allowed us to make our own meals. the cleanliness, friendly host, and availability of a kitchen were the best aspects of our stay.
There were a few negatives during our stay. The location of the hotel was not ideal, as the town surrounding it was dirty and smelly.

Great location - only a short 10-minute walk to the center and beach. Good-sized rooms with a nice host. Easy check-in despite limited English. Secure entrance through a locked gate. Quiet and plenty of parking space. Basic separate kitchen facilities and a fridge in the room. Effective air conditioning. Short drive to restaurants, bank, clinic, and supermarket. Nice eating area next to the pool.
Felt like home, no complaints at all.

The location was great, just a short walk to the center and the beach. The room was a good size and had a nice fridge. The host was friendly and check-in was easy.
It was a bit difficult to find the property as there was no sign on the road. Also, it wasn't within walking distance to restaurants if you're out late at night.

For the price, Villa Vilar was a great value and the room was comfortable. The location was convenient, just a short walk from downtown. The staff treated me with kindness and were very accommodating.
The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement, but overall it was a pleasant stay.
